On the 10th day after the operation, the wounds on the nape or other areas used as donors begin to heal.

How Many Grafts Can Be Taken From the Neck?

The donor area is where hair follicles are taken for hair transplantation. We see that it is mostly taken from the nape region. There is a maximum of 10 thousand – 12 thousand grafts from this region. For hair transplantation, around 6 thousand grafts will be sufficient.

Is There a Scar in the Donor Area After Hair Transplantation?

Incisions are made around the hair follicles measuring 0.7-0.9 millimeters. In other words, no matter what method is used in hair transplantation, it is not possible to perform the procedure without leaving a trace. The important thing is to apply the method that leaves as little as possible.

We can say that less traces remain in FUE and sub-methods that depend on this method. Because in such methods, very small incisions are made. In these cuts, they crust over and heal in a short time. However, some traces will remain.

How Can Scars in the Donor Area Be Concealed?

Small scars on the nape can be hidden with the hair that grows towards the nape after hair transplantation. In hairdressing operations, you can tell to pay attention to these areas.

Hair transplant donor area itching is an issue that many people suffer from. In the first week, the nape area will not be a problem as it will be bandaged. However, you may experience an intense itching sensation for a while after the bandage is opened. It is a good idea not to scratch this area as much as possible.

In order to prevent itching, it will be useful to use the creams recommended by your doctor. You can also apply an ice compress to the donor area, in consultation with your doctor.
