  • IS THE RESULT OF THE HAIR TRANSPLANT RELATED TO THE AGE OF THE TRANSPLANTED PERSON?

The age of the patient has no direct influence on the results of the hair transplant. Hair transplantation leads to the same result in young and middle-aged patients. In older patients, however, the situation may differ slightly. Hair transplantation in elderly patients may not achieve the expected result due to thinning of the hair and lack of hair in the donor region. Hair follicles in the donor area are healthier, thicker and more numerous in young and middle age. For these reasons, the final appearance is more successful than in older patients.

It is incorrect to say that there is a direct correlation between age and hair transplant results. Although they are old, there are also patients with thick and dense hair. Doctors should warn their patients that their hair may become thinner over time and the transplanted hair may look weak, although this is not common in young and older patients.
