1 - Do Life Conditions affect the Results of Hair Transplant?
Environmental factors, the thickness of one’s skin and hair color have no impact on the result of the hair transplant procedure. The only indispensable element is to have a healthy donor site (back of the scalp) and have healthy and thick hair in this area.
If the donor site is as healthy and thick as we cited above, then the color of one’s skin, their hair type, whether their hair is thin or thick has no impact. Hair transplant surgeries can be implemented on patients from the age of 18 to 69 as long as the donor site is healthy, and there are no anomalies.
2 - The right period of hair PRP Treatment implementation?
The PRP treatment is implemented during the hair transplant procedure. During the last stage of the hair transplant, when the patient is still under local anesthesia, we can implement hair PRP treatment on the just inserted open channels of the patient’s scalp. Also, during six month after a surgery it is recommended to implement a PRP treatment to support thickness of hair and their intensive growth. In other words, our patients can continue having hair PRP treatments after their hair transplant as well.
The aim of hair PRP treatment is to ensure the healing of the tissues in the transplanted area, promote and speed up hair growth, and make the existing hair thicker, and stop them from falling.
3 - If hair transplant is possible with Eczema symptoms on the Scalp?
Anyone who had eczema can definitely have a hair transplant surgery; however, it is better to consult with a dermatology physician before making the decision. During eczema symptoms, regular use of certain creams is required. If your dermatologist approves your hair transplantation, and if you regularly apply the cream and lotion that your doctor has prescribed after your hair transplant operation, you will have no problem, and can easily get a hair restoration.
4 - If having a Hair Transplantation Procedure is better when a person is Completely Go Bald?
The patient should not wait to go completely bald before getting a hair transplantation surgery. On the contrary, waiting until you lose all your hair will be a wrong choice because the higher number of grafts transplanted in hair transplantation surgery, the healthier, denser, and more natural your transplanted hair will look.
With going bald it won’t be possible to cover (with transplanted hair) the whole scalp in one session. The patient may have to have hair transplantation sessions every eight months and continue getting the hair transplant. Therefore, it is best that those who have reached a certain balding stage in their alopecia pattern or who have regional/local hair loss have hair transplantation procedure.
If your hairs are just started thinning, and the scalp skin is not visible, you can proceed another hair treatments such as hair PRP, hair mesotherapy, and hair shots. If the patient can see balding areas on their scalp when they look in the mirror, then the patient might qualify for hair transplantation.
5 - Performance of Hair and scalp examination Before A Hair Transplant Surgery?
When patients decide to have hair transplantation, they visit a hair transplantation clinic or they send the pictures of their scalp, displaying their alopecia level via WhatsApp or email to the hair transplantation clinic. When the patient visits the hair transplantation clinic we discuss the design of their hairline, the density of the hair follicles on the back and sides of their scalp, and the quantity of hair follicles composed in their follicular units.
6 - Can Hair Transplantation Be Repeated?
If the patient has enough hair follicles in the back of the scalp, the chest or the beard areas, hair transplantation can be repeated a few times. This totally depends on the concentration of hair follicles on the donor area.
7 - Interrelation between the Effectiveness of Hair Transplant and the Patient’s Age?
The age of the patient does not have a direct impact on hair transplantation. Hair transplantation gives the same effective results in young and middle-aged patients, however, if the hair transplant surgery is performed in older patient, the results will be different as their hair has become thinner with time, and the hair on donor site will be fewer. In young and middle-aged patients, the hair on the donor site is healthier, thicker, more in number, and therefore the final look is more successful than that in older patients.
It is not correct to say that there is a direct relationship between age and the hair transplantation results. There are patients in older age who have thick and rich hairs too. The doctors should tell their patients if their hair has become thinner in time, and that the transplanted hair will look thin too. This is not a common problem in younger and middle-aged patients though.
8 - Can the Hair Design be chosen with Hair Transplant Surgery?
If the patient has enough hair on his donor site, if donor site and the recipient site match each other, then your preferred hair design/model can be gained. It is very important that the hair transplant is performed correctly, and the hair follicles are transplanted at the right angle under the same direction. If they are not transplanted at the right angle, the hair will grow at a straight angle – as if growing away from the scalp (hedgehog type) and the hair design will not be as desired. It can be anything from combing the hair to the front, parting it to the right or left, or backcomb. All types of hair models and designs are possible to design in a hair.
9 - If Very Dry or Too Oily Scalp affect a Hair Transplant?
Having a very dry or very oily scalp affects our daily lives. Those with very dry scalps experience dandruff more often and those with very oily scalp experience oily hair. However, these (very dry or very greasy scalp) do not affect the result of the hair transplant in a negative way.
Only thing is that after hair transplant oily hairs will give discomfort, because the transplanted hair will be oily too. Otherwise, they do not have any impact on the results of the hair transplant procedure.
10 - How to Determine How Many Sessions to Take in a Hair Transplant Procedure?
The number of hair transplant sessions is determined according to the compatibility between the donor and the recipient sites. For instance, if the donor site (the back of the scalp) allows for extracting 3.500 grafts in one session but your balding site requires at least 5.000 grafts to cover up, we extract and transplant the 3.500 grafts in the first sessions. When the donor site is healed, we extract the remaining 2.000 grafts, and transplant them to the recipient area, and complete the procedure. The number of sessions is determined in accordance with the size of the balding area. Maximum three sessions of hair transplantation can be performed.
11 - Can Hair Follicles Be Transplanted from Someone Else?
Hair follicles of one’s siblings, mother, father, or someone with matching tissues cannot be transplanted on the patient. There is an important reason behind this. Hair follicles are organs on their own, and transplantation might lead to incompatibility. Even in the transplantation of larger organs or in the transplantation of one single organ, the body might refuse the transplanted organ even if the tissue compatibility is well researched.
In a hair transplantation of 3.000 grafts, 3.000 individual organs will be transplanted, and therefore the incompatibility of tissues is very high. Therefore, hair follicle transplantation between people is not performed.
12 - Which Medications patient should not use Before Hair Transplant?
If you take regular any medications, you must mention this to your hair transplant surgeon or to the clinic before your hair transplant. If you take particularly blood thinning medications and such, you must not take them before your hair transplant. Patient must not take any E vitamins before the surgery. If the medications that you take contain garlic and its derivatives, it is best to stop taking them prior to your hair transplant. The most important advice for hair transplant patients is that they should mention all the medications that they are currently taking (and used to take) to their hair transplant surgeon or the clinic.
13 - What Are the Negative Consequences of Hair Loss in Men?
Some men who experience hair loss can also experience loss of confidence. We all look at our old pictures – what looks different in men is often the loss of hair and weight gain.
Some people choose to wear their hat even when at home, and while they are chatting with their family. Hair loss can cause pressure in some people. If a person is having difficulties in their life because of their hair loss, we recommend them to have hair transplant. When our patients come to our clinic after their operation, they have a happy look on their faces. We are then happy for them because hair looks very good on some people, and because we have seen our patient’s head with and without hair, it is sometimes hard to recognize them.
After a hair transplant, patient feels younger, more energetic, and their energy level rises. For those, who are not happy with their balding head, hair transplant is the only solution.
14 - If Hair Transplant is possible to perform on a Burn Mark or Scarred Tissue?
Hair transplant can be performed on burn marks or scars. Hair follicles are extracted from the back of your scalp, and these follicles are transplanted to the burnt or scarred areas. There is no difference to a regular hair transplant procedure. Only, because the tissue in the recipient area had been damaged, the team needs to work meticulously, they need to pay attention to the nourishment of the tissue, and the result of your hair transplant operation will be successful.
